Mrs. Joe Ann Lyle Hoffman

Mrs. Joe Ann Lyle Hoffman is a sixty-plus year member of Saint James African Methodist Episcopal Church in Fort Worth, Texas. At SaintJames she has served in various positions. She is the widow of an AME Minister.

A Member of Church Women United in Fort Worth for over 25 years. Served as Devotion Leader for her Local CWU Unit. Presently serving locally as Editor for the Yearbook, Membership Chair, and Editor for the Unit’s Newsletter, “News Notes”. On the State CWU level, she serves as Editor for the Texas Church Woman Newsletter and as Chaplain. She is the Recipient of the Valiant Woman Award.

A Life Member in the Women’s Missionary Society in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. She has served on all levels of the Women’s Missionary Society. On the Local Level, she has served as Local President, Recording Secretary, and Director for Promotion Missionary Education. On the Conference and District Levels, she served as 1 st Vice President, responsible for preparing and organizing Programs and Workshops and as Director for Promotion Missionary Education. On the National Level, served for eight years as the 5 th Director for Promotion Missionary Education for the Women’s Missionary Society. In that position she supervised thirteen District Directors and Directors from Africa and the Caribbean who published annually the Missionary Yearbook. A Yearbook filled with Monthly Lessons developed from a yearly Theme.

She is the mother of one Son, grandmother to three and great grandmother to two.
